Permits, placement and who may haul in Aurora
Who may haul — the rule that matters: Aurora licenses the haulers that serve homes — residents must "arrange for service with one of the city's permitted trash and recycling haulers." We hold every hauler licence Aurora requires of us.
No dumpsters in the street: the City says it outright — "storage pods and dumpsters are not allowed on the public street." Code Sec. 94-106 bans anything that obstructs a street, sidewalk or alley, and the general penalty runs up to $2,650 and 364 days per offence, with each day a separate offence.
On your driveway: the City says pods and dumpsters "may be considered for placement on private property, including driveways, through the city's Temporary Use Permit program." The application fee is $85.25, through DevPortal.AuroraGov.org (tup@auroragov.org, 303.739.7420). The City's pages do not say whether every driveway roll-off needs one, so we check your job with the City before booking.
