Approx. 15 road miles from the yard, around 25 minutes.
Castle Rock is approx. 15 road miles from the yard, around 25 minutes — next morning as a rule, often the same day. It is a town of 83,815 by the Census Bureau's July 2025 estimate (73,158 at the 2020 Census), and the Douglas County seat.
The Town runs no trash service: "Neighborhoods with homeowners associations may provide trash removal through the HOA. Those in areas without an HOA must obtain individual service." Its code is strict about where a dumpster sits, so read the placement rule below before you book.
Local knowledge
Getting our bearings in Castle Rock
Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.
- No Town trash service — it is your HOA's hauler or your own subscription. The Town names HBS Trash and Waste Management as providers serving the area; that is a list, not a contract.
- The County seat — Castle Rock hosts the headquarters of Douglas County, the Douglas County School District and the Sheriff's Office.
- Founded on a gift of land — in 1874 homesteader Jeremiah Gould donated 120 acres "to be known as Castle Rock"; the first six streets were Elbert, Jerry, Wilcox, Perry, Castle and Front.
- Rhyolite town — stone quarried from the butte "put Castle Rock on the map," by the Town's account, and the old train depot is now the Castle Rock Historical Museum on Elbert Street.
- Branches and yard waste — the Town points residents to the Douglas County slash and mulch site, open Monday to Saturday, 8 am to 5 pm, loads covered.

What comes out of Castle Rock properties
Kitchens, baths and roofs in 15s and 20s, whole-house cleanouts in 20s and 30s, teardowns in 30s and 40s, and a 10 for concrete and brick. On a building site the Town code (8.20.020) puts it on the owner or contractor to provide the refuse containers the job needs — a roll-off covers it. Colorado's landfill bans apply: no lead-acid batteries, liquids, used oil, tires or electronics in the container.

Sizes
Choosing a container size in Castle Rock
Weight is what usually decides the size, not how much room the pile takes up.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 Yard Dumpster | about 14 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 3.5 ft high | about 3 pickup truck loads | 1–2 tons | Small kitchen and bathroom remodels, single-room and garage cleanouts, small roofing jobs, and concrete, tile, asphalt, brick or dirt loaded level. |
| 15 Yard Dumpster | about 16 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 4.5 ft high | about 4–5 pickup truck loads | 2–3 tons | Kitchen and bath remodels, multi-room and garage cleanouts, flooring and carpet removal, light and medium roofing, small deck and fence removals, and yard waste. |
| 20 Yard Dumpster | about 22 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 4.5 ft high | about 6 pickup truck loads | 3–4 tons | Kitchen and bath remodels, whole-home cleanouts, multi-room renovations, roofing, large landscaping jobs and light demolition. |
| 30 Yard Dumpster | about 22 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 6 ft high | about 9 pickup truck loads | 4–5 tons | Multi-room and full-house renovations, estate and rental property cleanouts, retail and office remodels, and demolition debris, drywall and lumber. |
| 40 Yard Dumpster | about 22 ft long × 7.5 ft wide × 8 ft high | about 12 pickup truck loads | 5–6 tons | Full-scale construction and demolition, commercial renovations, warehouse and office cleanouts, commercial roofing, full-home remodels and large event cleanup. |
Permits, placement and who may haul in Castle Rock
Who may haul: we found no hauler licence, roll-off licence or franchise in the Castle Rock code. Nothing we found restricts who may run a roll-off here.
Street and front yard — the rule that matters: Code 8.20.030 makes it unlawful to place any refuse container, dumpsters included, in any street, alley, right-of-way or easement in the Town "at any time, either permanently or temporarily." It also bars them from the front-yard setback — at least 20 ft deep — unless the Town approves it after review. The Town can remove a container and bill the owner, and the fine runs up to $300. A driveway in front of the house can sit inside that setback, so call Development Services before delivery if the container has to go out front.
Encroachment permits: Chapter 14.06 lets a property owner apply to Development Services for a revocable right-of-way encroachment permit for temporary use. We found nothing saying the Town uses it for dumpsters, and no fee.
Knocking something down: the Town's adopted building codes cover demolition. In the Historic Downtown Area, a post-1945 building's demolition permit comes through Development Services; a pre-1945 or significant building needs a Cultural Resource Survey, a Historic Preservation Board hearing and a Town Council decision. Colorado's asbestos inspection and 10-working-day CDPHE demolition notice apply on top.

How it works
Booking a dumpster in Castle Rock
Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.
- 1
Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the container needs to sit, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No long forms, no guesswork.
- 2
We size it and quote it flat
You get one number covering delivery, the standard rental of up to 7 days, pickup, disposal and a stated weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.
- 3
Delivered where you want it
The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site exactly where you asked, with boards under it if you want them. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability.
- 4
Load at your own pace
Keep it below the top rail and keep the banned items out — tires, car batteries, used oil, liquids, paint, chemicals, propane tanks, TVs and computers, and fridges or A/C units with refrigerant still in them. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call or text and we are on it.
- 5
We haul it and dispose of it right
The load goes to a permitted landfill such as the Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site, with metal, concrete, cardboard and clean green waste recycled whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers
Dumpster rental in Castle Rock — common questions
Is Castle Rock same-day?
Next morning as a rule — about 25 minutes from the yard — and often the same day. Call (720) 964-2184 and ask.
Can the dumpster go on my driveway in Castle Rock?
Often, but check first. Town code bars refuse containers from the street and from the front-yard setback (at least 20 ft) unless the Town approves it, and a front driveway can fall inside that. Call Development Services before delivery.
Does Castle Rock license dumpster haulers?
Not that we found — no hauler licence, roll-off licence or franchise turned up in the Town code.
Where do branches go instead?
The Douglas County slash and mulch site takes branches, leaves and grass clippings, Monday to Saturday, 8 am to 5 pm, with loads covered. Residents only, no contractors.
Service area
Every town we cover
We run roll-off containers out of the Dransfeldt Road yard to every town below. Parker and the closest towns are often same-day; the edges of the area are more often next-day. A few towns license the haulers that work inside their limits, and several keep containers off the street — each page says so plainly. If your town is not listed, call anyway.
