Everything people ask before they book
If you are renting a dumpster for the first time, you probably have the same dozen questions everyone does: what it costs, what size, whether the town will fine you, and what you cannot throw in. The answers below are the ones we give on the phone every day. If yours is not here, call (720) 964-2184 — a real person in Parker will answer it.
Part 1
Pricing
How much does a dumpster rental cost in Parker, CO?
Most rentals run $350 to $750, with no hidden fuel surcharges or environmental fees; a 10 yard is typically $350 to $550. The price depends on the size, the type of debris, the delivery location and how long you keep it. You get a flat rate on the phone covering delivery, pickup, the standard rental of up to 7 days and the included weight — 1 to 2 tons on a 10 yard, 2 to 3 on a 15, 3 to 4 on a 20, 4 to 5 on a 30, 5 to 6 on a 40. Going over means an overage. The cost guide breaks it down.
Is delivery and pickup included in the price?
Yes. Delivery, pickup, the rental period and disposal up to the included weight are all in the one flat price. No fuel surcharges, no hidden fees.
What causes extra charges?
Two things: going over the included weight — we weigh the container and apply a low-cost, per-ton overage — and keeping the container past the rental window, at a low daily rate. Banned items also have to come out of the load before it can go. We explain it all on the first call so there is nothing to find later.
Do you charge more for heavy materials like concrete or dirt?
Not a different rate — but concrete, brick, dirt, shingles and tile use up the included weight fast. So we size heavy loads differently (a 10 yard loaded level, or split loads) and tell you where the weight line is before you load.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards. Payment is taken when your booking is confirmed, to secure the delivery slot. Contractors and repeat business clients can ask about PO-based invoicing and custom billing for job-site rotations.
Part 2
Sizing
What size dumpster do I need?
A 10 for a bathroom, a garage or a small load of heavy material, a 15 for a kitchen, flooring or a multi-room cleanout, a 20 for a whole-home cleanout, a roof or a multi-room remodel, a 30 for a full-house renovation or an estate, a 40 for construction and demolition. Weight decides for dense material — see the size guide.
What happens if I order too small?
You need another haul — and too large means paying for unused space. When in doubt, describe the job and let us size it. If your project grows, we can swap the dumpster.
What is the biggest dumpster you offer?
A 40 yard: about 22 ft × 7.5 ft × 8 ft, roughly 12 pickup loads, 5–6 tons included. It is a job-site container, not a driveway one.
How full can I fill it?
Below the top rail, no higher. An overfilled dumpster cannot legally or safely be hauled, so even loading matters.
How much does a roof tear-off produce?
It depends on the size of the roof and how many layers are coming off. Small roofing jobs fit a 10, light and medium roofs a 15, and most homes a 20. Shingles are heavy, so tell us the roof size and the layers and we will plan it around the weight.
Part 3
Permits, placement and town rules
Do I need a permit to have a dumpster delivered?
On your own driveway or private property in Parker, we found no Town permit for a roll-off. In the street, check first: the Town requires a Street Occupancy Permit, applied for on eTRAKiT through Engineering and Public Works, to place a dumpster in the Town right-of-way for more than 24 hours, and its construction manual says dumpsters are not to go in the right-of-way without the Town's specific approval. The fee is not published — 303.840.9546 is the number to call. Parker Road is a state highway, where CDOT has its own permit. Other towns differ — Castle Pines charges $370 for a 90-day street permit, and Aurora does not allow dumpsters on the public street. The permit guide and your town page cover the details.
Can the dumpster go on the street if my driveway won't fit it?
Possibly, but ask first. In Parker, call Engineering and Public Works at 303.840.9546 before you count on it. In Englewood, homeowners can get a special Occupancy Permit for a dumpster in the parking lane in front of the home, at least 20 feet from any corner, alley or entrance, for up to 180 days a year, after a five-business-day review. In Centennial, residential street permits go only to HOAs and groups of five or more residents. Highlands Ranch and Aurora keep dumpsters off the street. Tell us when you book and we line the delivery up with it.
Why do some of your town pages say the town licenses haulers?
Because a few do. Englewood makes it unlawful to haul trash for pay without a City licence, and counts construction materials, landscaping waste, scrap wood and metal as trash, with $1,000,000 of liability cover required (EMC 5-26). Aurora licenses the haulers that provide residential curbside service. We are licensed in the towns that require it. The State registers only haulers of ten or more waste tires a load, and our search of Parker's Municipal Code found no hauler licence. We quote the section on each page and tell you where your job stands.
Why do some town pages say the town arranges household trash?
Because several do. Lone Tree contracts residential trash to Waste Connections — though residents are free to use another hauler — Greenwood Village provides trash through Waste Connections, Foxfield has arranged service with Republic Services, and The Village at Castle Pines gets trash through its Homes Association's contract. Parker, Castle Rock, Littleton, Centennial and unincorporated Douglas County provide none, and Aurora and Englewood require every home to have weekly service from a licensed hauler. A roll-off carries project debris, not weekly trash. We tell you straight on the phone where your job stands.
Does my HOA matter?
It can. House Bill 22-1139 stops an HOA from forbidding lawful use of the public right-of-way, but covenants can still cover containers on your driveway. We do not know your HOA's rules — check them before you book. In Highlands Ranch, HRCA asks you to call 303-471-8821 with your address and dates.
Will the dumpster damage my driveway?
Ask for boards under the dumpster and the driver puts them down. Tell us before delivery if a surface needs more than that — and keep it off grass, soft soil and septic systems.
How much space does the truck need?
A flat, hard surface, room for the container — about 14 feet long for a 10 yard, about 22 feet for a 20 and up — about 60 feet of clear approach for the truck, and about 25 feet clear overhead. Power lines, tree branches, parked cars and bins are the usual problem.
Part 4
Booking and delivery
How do I book a dumpster?
Call (720) 964-2184. Tell us the address, what is going in and roughly how much, and we quote it flat and schedule it on the same call.
How fast can you deliver?
Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability. Call before noon for the best chance of same-day; the edges of our area are more often next day.
What are your hours?
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Storm requests go to the same number.
How long can I keep the dumpster?
The standard rental is up to 7 days. Call or text and we extend it at a low daily rate. Some rules set their own clock: in Centennial, a driveway dumpster on work with no City building permit can stay only 7 consecutive days, and one tied to a building permit must go within 7 days of the work finishing; Castle Pines's street permit runs 90 days, then $185 for each 30-day extension; and Englewood allows a dumpster in the street for no more than 180 days in twelve months. Your HOA may have its own limit.
Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?
No. Agree the spot with us, keep it clear of vehicles and obstacles, mark it and text us a photo, and the driver sets it down. Same for pickup.
Can I book multiple dumpsters at once?
Yes. Several dumpsters at once, staggered deliveries and scheduled rotations are routine for contractors and property managers.
Part 5
Service area
What towns do you serve?
Parker, Castle Rock, Castle Pines, Lone Tree, Highlands Ranch, Larkspur, Franktown, Sedalia and Roxborough Park in Douglas County; Centennial, Littleton, Englewood, Greenwood Village, Aurora and Foxfield in the south metro; and Elizabeth and Kiowa in Elbert County — each with its own page. The complete Parker guide pulls it together.
Where is Elevation Dumpster Services based?
At 10270 S Dransfeldt Rd, Parker, CO 80134.
Is service different in the far towns?
Mostly the timing. Kiowa, Larkspur and Roxborough Park are 27 to 28 road miles from the yard and more often next day than same-day. Price depends partly on the delivery location, and we say any difference up front.
Do some towns restrict who can deliver a roll-off?
Yes — Englewood licenses trash haulers and Aurora licenses its curbside haulers, and Castle Pines, Castle Rock, Centennial, Aurora and Highlands Ranch have rules on where a container can sit. Each town page says what that town's code says, and we tell you where your job stands when you call.
Part 6
What we take
What can I put in a dumpster?
Household junk and furniture, mattresses, wood, drywall, flooring, cabinets, siding, roofing shingles, metal, cardboard and packaging, yard waste, and concrete, brick, asphalt or dirt loaded level within the weight limit.
What can't go in a dumpster?
Colorado bans lead-acid batteries, used oil, liquid wastes, waste tires and electronic devices and computers from landfills — and the law has us tell you that lead-acid batteries go to a retailer or wholesaler that collects or recycles them, a secondary lead smelter, or a collection or recycling facility instead. We also keep out paint, solvents and chemicals, propane tanks and gas cylinders, medical waste, asbestos, and refrigerant appliances that have not been properly evacuated. The what can and cannot go in guide says where each of those goes instead.
Can asbestos-containing material go in a dumpster?
No. Colorado requires an inspection by a Colorado-certified asbestos inspector before any demolition — houses included — and a CDPHE Demolition Notification at least 10 working days ahead, even if none is found, with a fee of $50 plus $5 per 1,000 square feet. Renovations that disturb more than the trigger levels of suspect material need an inspection first too. Concrete or wood with asbestos floor tile or mastic on it cannot be recycled. It never goes in a roll-off.
Can I put concrete, brick or dirt in a regular dumpster?
In a 10 or 15 yard, yes — heavy materials have strict weight limits for safe transport. Heaped in a 20 or 30 it is more than the truck can safely haul. That is why so many patio and driveway jobs end up with a 10, loaded level, kept separate from household junk.
Can I put a mattress or an old appliance in?
Mattresses, yes. Fridges, freezers and A/C units only with the refrigerant recovered first — federal EPA rules make the final disposer responsible for it — so tell us in advance. TVs and computers are banned from Colorado landfills. Our junk removal crew can take them to the right place.
What happens to the debris after pickup?
It goes to a permitted landfill such as the Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site in Aurora, not a random dump. Metal, concrete, asphalt and cardboard are recycled through approved Colorado facilities whenever possible, and clean green waste is diverted to mulch and compost where facilities allow.
