Castle Pines is approx. 13 road miles from the yard, around 20 minutes, and same-day when you call before noon. It is a city of 15,583 by the Census Bureau's July 2025 estimate (11,036 at the 2020 Census), incorporated in 2008.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Castle Pines

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • The Village at Castle Pines — trash and recycling are a Castle Pines Homes Association service, with Waste Management as the contracted provider. Trash goes out Wednesdays.
  • Incorporated in 2008 — one of the youngest cities in Douglas County.
  • Castle Pines North Metro District — established in 1984, it serves water and wastewater to roughly 12,000 residents.
  • Spring Cleanup Day — a volunteer litter pick-up in parks such as Elk Ridge, Coyote Ridge, Retreat Park and The Green. It is not a drop-off, so it will not take your junk.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Castle Pines

Who may haul: we found no hauler licence or franchise in the Castle Pines code. The City does license contractors — anyone contracting demolition needs a Class J Demolition licence, $75 a year (Sec. 6-7-40).

In the street — the rule that matters: Sec. 11-1-30 says no one may place a dumpster — any container of 5 cubic yards or more — in the public right-of-way without a valid City permit and the permit fee. The 2025 Fee Schedule (updated September 2025) sets "Temporary Dumpster Placement" at $370 for the first 90 days and $185 for each 30-day extension. Apply online through the City's SmartGov portal ("Dumpster/Storage Pod Permit"). The City Manager may also ask for a bond, proof of insurance or indemnification. Without a permit, a dumpster on the street is a nuisance under Sec. 7-2-70.

On your driveway: Sec. 11-1-30 covers the right-of-way only, so a driveway drop needs no City permit under it. HOA rules may still apply.

Hours and demolition: Sec. 7-4-110 limits construction activity — demolition and loading and unloading from construction vehicles included — to permitted hours. Colorado's asbestos inspection and 10-working-day CDPHE demolition notice apply to every demolition.

Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Castle Pines

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. 1

Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the container needs to sit, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No long forms, no guesswork.

  2. 2

We size it and quote it flat

You get one number covering delivery, the standard rental of up to 7 days, pickup, disposal and a stated weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. 3

    Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site exactly where you asked, with boards under it if you want them. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability.

  4. 4

    Load at your own pace

Keep it below the top rail and keep the banned items out — tires, car batteries, used oil, liquids, paint, chemicals, propane tanks, TVs and computers, and fridges or A/C units with refrigerant still in them. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call or text and we are on it.

  5. 5

We haul it and dispose of it right

The load goes to a permitted landfill such as the Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site, with metal, concrete, cardboard and clean green waste recycled whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.
