Permits, placement and who may haul in Englewood
Who may haul — the rule that matters: Englewood Code Chapter 5-26 makes it unlawful to haul trash in the City for a fee without a City licence, and "trash" includes construction materials, landscaping waste, scrap wood and metal. Licence holders carry Colorado vehicle insurance plus $1,000,000 in general liability, report their disposal site to the Licensing Officer, and may not compact or collect between 10 pm and 7 am in or across from a residential district. We hold our Englewood trash-hauling licence.
In the street: the City offers a homeowner Occupancy/Dumpster permit for a dumpster in the right-of-way, applied for at ims.englewoodco.gov; review takes five business days. The container goes in the parking lane in front of the permitted property, at least 20 ft from any corner, alley or entrance, never on a sidewalk, travel lane, no-parking zone or alley, with traffic control in place and the permit visible.
