Local knowledge
Getting our bearings in Greenwood Village
Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.
- Waste Connections on City service — residential trash and recycling for eligible properties, with bagged leaves taken alongside the weekly trash.
- Large Item Pickup — free for households on City service; call Public Works on 303-708-6100 first. It will not take commercial or contractor waste, concrete and asphalt, roofing and siding, fences and decks, drywall, sod, soil, mulch, rock or pavers, or anything from a project that needed a building permit.
- Incorporated in 1950 — the vote on September 8, 1950 passed 74 to 64, and Charles Enos was the first mayor.
- Orchard country — by the early 1900s the area grew cherry, apple, apricot, plum and pear trees, and an 1899 farm map showed Greenwood Ranch with eight reservoirs.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Greenwood Village
Who may haul: we found no hauler or roll-off licence in the Greenwood Village code. Nothing we found restricts who may run a roll-off here.
Building sites: Sec. 18-1-60 says that before construction of any home or commercial building, the owner or contractor must put a trash-retaining receptacle on site, big enough to hold shingles, tar paper and anything the wind could carry, with trash put in it by 6 pm each day. A roll-off does the job.
In the street: Sec. 11-3-50 needs a City permit for any work in the public right-of-way, and Sec. 11-3-20 counts "any use or storage of equipment or materials" as work. The code does not name dumpsters and we found no dumpster fee, so check with Public Works (303-708-6100) before the street. Applications go through the City's ROW Permitting Portal.
Demolition: we found no Greenwood Village demolition page. Ask the City before anything comes down; Colorado's asbestos inspection and 10-working-day CDPHE notice apply regardless.
Summarized from the city's published code and web pages as read in October 2026. Codes change — confirm with the department listed before you rely on it.
How it works
Booking a dumpster in Greenwood Village
Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.
- 1
Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask what you are clearing, where the container needs to sit, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us. No long forms, no guesswork.
- 2
We size it and quote it flat
You get one number covering delivery, the standard rental of up to 7 days, pickup, disposal and a stated weight allowance. If a smaller box does the job we will say so. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.
- 3
Delivered where you want it
The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site exactly where you asked, with boards under it if you want them. Often same-day or next-day, depending on availability.
- 4
Load at your own pace
Keep it below the top rail and keep the banned items out — tires, car batteries, used oil, liquids, paint, chemicals, propane tanks, TVs and computers, and fridges or A/C units with refrigerant still in them. Need a swap mid-job or an early pickup? One call or text and we are on it.
- 5
We haul it and dispose of it right
The load goes to a permitted landfill such as the Denver Arapahoe Disposal Site, with metal, concrete, cardboard and clean green waste recycled whenever possible. You get your driveway back the way you left it.

Local answers
Dumpster rental in Greenwood Village — common questions
Is Greenwood Village same-day?
Next morning as a rule — about 20 minutes from the yard — and often the same day. Call (720) 964-2184 and ask.
Will the City's Large Item Pickup take my old deck?
No. Fences and decks, roofing, drywall, concrete, landscaping material and anything from a permitted project are all on the not-accepted list.
Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Greenwood Village?
Not that we found for a driveway. For the street, the City needs a right-of-way permit for storing equipment or materials there — check with Public Works first.
Do I need a dumpster on a building site?
The code needs a trash-retaining receptacle on site before construction starts, with trash in it by 6 pm each day.
Service area
Every town we cover
We run roll-off containers out of the Dransfeldt Road yard to every town below. Parker and the closest towns are often same-day; the edges of the area are more often next-day. A few towns license the haulers that work inside their limits, and several keep containers off the street — each page says so plainly. If your town is not listed, call anyway.
